Extreme Weather Relief Options

Lake County does not routinely open official extreme weather centers; however, we do have public facilities open across the County (see the list below). These County operated facilities will always be open during their normal hours and are excellent cooling/warming options. There may be times that the facilities below adjust their hours to remain open more during an extreme weather event—at the onset of any such event, the County will distribute a press release (check for the latest news by following this link) with details and each facility can be contacted on their own to verify hours.

Through planning and grant seeking, County staff are actively working to establish cooling/warming centers and/or to add back-up power to current facilities.
