Prepare Now

Plan for your safety, and the safety of your loved ones. Prepare yourself, and help others to prepare, as you are able. If you or those connected to you have medical and/or mobility needs that are dependent upon electrical power, it is particularly important that you act now.

Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) Safety Action Center

Preparedness resources are available in PG&E's Safety Action Center.

Have a Family Emergency Plan

Prepare an Emergency Supply Kit, with supplies sufficient for at least a 72-hour period. PG&E officials have stated that a PSPS event could last up to 5 days. These supplies will need to be periodically refreshed.

Some residents may choose to seek a backup power solution for their residence. Information is available on the Generators and Backup Power page.

Remember, a Public Safety Power Shutdown (PSPS) is just one type of event where power may be lost for an extended period, and it is important that you and those around you are ready.
